Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces ripe pears (Bosc or Anjou) These types work beautifully.
  • 4 oz creamy blue cheese Generously scoop onto the pears.
  • 4 tablespoons honey Drizzle generously over each pear.
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar Optional, but recommended for added flavor.
  • to taste crushed walnuts or pecans Optional, for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Wash and slice the pears in half lengthwise, removing the cores. Place them cut side up in a baking dish.
Baking
  1. Scoop a generous tablespoon of creamy blue cheese onto each pear half.
  2. Drizzle honey over each pear and optionally add balsamic vinegar.
  3. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes until tender but not falling apart.
Garnishing & Serving
  1. Remove the foil and let the pears cool for a minute. Top with crushed walnuts or pecans and serve warm.

Notes

If blue cheese isn’t preferred, substitute with goat cheese or ricotta. For firm pears, increase baking time as needed. Maple syrup can replace honey for a different flavor.
