Ingredients
  

For the Pears
  • 2 pieces ripe but firm pears (bartlett or anjou) Choose pears that are ripe but not mushy.
For the Toppings
  • 1 cup mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries) Use whatever mixed berries you have on hand.
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped Other nuts can be substituted if desired.
  • 1/3 cup blue cheese, crumbled Substitute goat cheese if preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Add more for extra sweetness if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted Used to mix with the toppings.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon A cozy seasoning for the dessert.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the pears in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds using a spoon. Place them cut-side up in a baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the mixed berries, chopped walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, melted butter, honey, and cinnamon.
Baking
  1. Spoon the berry mixture generously into the hollows of each pear half.
  2. Drizzle a bit of honey over the pears and place the baking dish in the oven.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the mixture is bubbling.
  4. Serve warm, possibly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave for a delicious treat.
