Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture.
  5. Fold in the toffee bits and toasted pecans.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Toast the pecans for extra flavor. Chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies. Wrap cookies in bags for gifting.
