  • 1 cup sour cream Can be substituted with Greek yogurt.
  • 1 cup mayonnaise Use dairy-free mayo for a dairy-free option.
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix Homemade seasoning can be made with garlic powder, onion powder, dill, and a pinch of salt.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Can be replaced with dairy-free cheese substitute.
  • 1 cup chopped green onions
  • to taste diced jalapeƱos Optional for adding spice.

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing mix. Mix well using a spatula.
  2. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions. If using, add diced jalapeƱos.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

This dip can be made a day ahead of time. If it becomes too thick after chilling, add a splash of milk to loosen it. Feel free to experiment with additional ingredients like cooked bacon or black olives.
