  • 1 package frozen Texas toast (garlic-flavored) Make sure to choose garlic-flavored toast.
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Use generously.
  • 0.5 cup pepperoni slices Feel free to replace with your favorite toppings.
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried Italian herbs Basil, oregano, or a mix.
  • to taste fresh basil leaves Optional garnish.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  3. Lay out your frozen Texas toast slices on the baking sheet.
  4. Spread a spoonful of marinara sauce over each slice.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  6. Add pepperoni slices or your desired toppings.
  7. Sprinkle Italian herbs over the toppings.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the toast are golden brown.
  2. Let cool for a minute, garnish with fresh basil if desired, cut into slices, and serve hot.

Notes

For toppings, consider mushrooms or spinach, but ensure they don’t release too much moisture. Pair with a fresh side salad for a balanced meal.
