Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 1 package Texas toast 8 pieces
  • 1 cup pizza sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese for optimal cheesiness
  • 2 tablespoons garlic butter melted
Toppings
  • Toppings of your choice (pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc.) As desired
  • crushed red pepper flakes optional for heat
  • fresh basil optional, for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Place the Texas toast on a baking sheet and spread melted garlic butter on each slice.
  3. Spread a generous layer of pizza sauce on top of each piece of Texas toast.
  4. Sprinkle a liberal amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  5. Add your desired toppings on top of the cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden and cheese is bubbling.
Serving
  1. Allow to cool for a minute, then garnish with crushed red pepper flakes and fresh basil.
  2. Slice into squares and serve.
