Ingredients

For the T-Bone Steak
  • 1 large T-bone steak (about 1.5 pounds)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-2 sprigs Fresh rosemary or thyme For aroma
For the Fried Shrimp
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk For soaking shrimp
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs For additional crunch
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Oil (for frying)

Method

Cooking the Steak
  1. Pat the T-bone steak dry with paper towels.
  2. Generously season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper.
  3. In a heavy skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering and sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
  4. Tent the steak with foil and allow it to rest for about 5-10 minutes.
Fried Shrimp Adventure
  1. Combine the shrimp and buttermilk in a bowl and let soak for about 20 minutes.
  2. In a separate dish, mix flour, paprika, salt, and pepper. Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, then toss in the breadcrumbs.
  3. In a deep frying pan, heat enough oil to cover half the shrimp and fry in batches for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Arrange the steak and shrimp on a platter and garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer for perfect steak temperature (aim for 130°F for medium-rare). Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
