  • 1 cup whole milk Provides a smoother consistency.
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract Enhances the flavor.
  • 1 pinch salt Balance the sweetness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup of sugar and let them sit for about 30 minutes.
  2. Blend the macerated strawberries in a blender or food processor until smooth, reserving some for texture if desired.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, remaining sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until dissolved.
  4. Combine the pureed strawberries with the cream mixture and stir until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour.
Churning
  1. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. If using a shallow dish, freeze the mixture and stir every 30 minutes for about 3-4 hours until creamy.
Serving
  1. Once the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, scoop it into bowls or cones, topping with fresh strawberries if desired.

Notes

Adjust sweetness according to the strawberries’ ripeness. Adding lemon zest can provide a zesty twist!
