  • 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter Use for melting with marshmallows
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped Can substitute with freeze-dried strawberries
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter and mini marshmallows. Stir until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and fold in the chopped strawberries.
  4. Gently stir in the Rice Krispies cereal and add a pinch of salt until evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and press down evenly.
  6. Let the treats cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

For extra strawberry flavor, add a dash of strawberry extract to the melted marshmallows. Use butter on your hands to avoid stickiness.
