Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until just blended.
- Stir in the diced strawberries and chocolate chips gently.
- In another bowl, whip together the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Assembly and Baking
- Pour half of the chocolate cake batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Dollop the cream cheese mixture on top of the batter.
- Pour the remaining cake batter over the top.
- Bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat. You can customize with nuts or other fruits as desired. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
