Trifle Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Fresh strawberries make a world of difference.
  • 2 cups whipped cream Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 box vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 pound angel food cake, cubed You can use homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers This adds the crunch factor.
  • to taste fresh mint leaves for garnish Optional but recommended for garnish.

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth. Set aside and let it thicken for about 5 minutes.
  2. In your trifle dish, start with a layer of cubed angel food cake at the bottom.
  3. Spoon a layer of whipped cream over the cake pieces.
  4. Add a layer of the prepared vanilla pudding on top of the whipped cream.
  5. Scatter a layer of sliced strawberries on top, followed by a crunchy layer of crushed graham crackers.
  6. Continue to repeat the layers until your dish is filled, finishing off with a layer of whipped cream and topped with strawberries and graham cracker crumbs.
  7. Cover your trifle and let it chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.

Notes

This trifle can be made a day ahead. Serve in clear glasses or jars for a beautiful presentation.
