Ingredients

For the Trifle
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Use ripe, juicy strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Make sure it is cold before whipping.
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt Use plain or flavored yogurt as desired.
  • 1 cup crushed vanilla wafers Can substitute with graham crackers or Oreos.
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar Adjust according to your sweetness preference.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use pure vanilla extract for the best flavor.
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish Optional but adds a nice touch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing and hulling your fresh strawberries. Slice them into thin pieces and set them aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer, whip the mixture until soft peaks form.
  3. Gently fold in the vanilla yogurt into the whipped cream until it’s beautifully blended.
Assembly
  1. Layer the trifle by starting with a layer of crushed vanilla wafers, followed by a layer of the yogurt and cream mixture, and then a layer of sliced strawberries. Repeat until ingredients are used up, finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.
  2. Let your Strawberry Crunch Trifle chill in the fridge for about an hour before serving.
  3. Garnish with crushed wafers and fresh mint leaves before serving.

Notes

Crushed Cookie Substitution: Swap vanilla wafers for graham crackers or crushed Oreos for a chocolatey twist! Use frozen strawberries if fresh ones are unavailable by thawing and draining excess liquid. For a fancier presentation, consider layering in mason jars.
