  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Use ripe strawberries for maximum flavor.
  • 2 bananas, sliced Choose ripe bananas for the best taste.
Pudding Mix
  • 1 pack instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz) Can be substituted with chocolate pudding if desired.
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 container whipped topping (8 oz), thawed Homemade whipped cream can also be used.
Garnish
  • Crushed cookies (like Nilla wafers or graham crackers) Use as a topping for added texture.

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until the pudding thickens—about 2 minutes.
  2. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping. Be delicate to keep the mixture airy.
Assembly
  1. In a trifle dish, layer half of the sliced strawberries and bananas at the bottom.
  2. Scoop half of the pudding mixture on top of the fruits.
  3. Repeat with the remaining fruit and pudding mixture.
  4. Sprinkle crushed cookies on top before serving.
Chilling
  1. Let it chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before serving for best results.

Notes

You can make healthier versions by using low-fat ingredients or swap cookies for granola. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
