Ingredients

For the noodles
  • 8 oz 8 oz. of your favorite noodles (udon or rice noodles recommended)
For the protein
  • 1 lb 1 lb. sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 lb ½ lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
For the sauce
  • 4 tbsp 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp 1 tbsp brown sugar
For the veggies
  • 1 piece 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 piece 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 pieces 2 green onions, chopped
  • Optional: broccoli florets for extra greens

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Start by boiling water in a pot. Cook the noodles according to package instructions. Once done, drain them and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and brown sugar.
  3. In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, add a bit of oil and sear the steak slices for about 2-3 minutes until they develop a lovely brown crust. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, toss in the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, until they turn pink.
  5. Add your bell pepper, carrot, and any other veggies you want to throw in. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes, just until they begin to soften.
  6. Toss the cooked noodles, seared steak, shrimp, and sauce into the skillet. Stir to ensure everything is beautifully coated. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  7. Top with green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Consider marinating the steak in a bit of the sauce for deeper flavors. This dish can easily be adapted for picky eaters—substitute proteins or veggies as needed.
