Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Grab a golf-ball-sized portion of the mixture, flatten it in your palm, and place a tablespoon of mozzarella cheese in the center.
- Wrap the meat around the cheese, forming a ball. Repeat for all meatballs to make about 12.
Cooking
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the meatballs until golden brown on all sides, about 6-8 minutes.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs and cover the skillet, letting them simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
- While the meatballs are simmering, cook the spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Serving
- Serve the spaghetti topped with meatballs swimming in sauce, and garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
Notes
Don’t worry if your sauce looks a little lumpy—it adds character! For kids, you can swap marinara for a low-sugar pasta sauce.
