Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Scrub the potatoes clean under running water.
Bake Potatoes
- Prick each potato a few times with a fork and bake directly on the oven rack for 45-60 minutes until soft.
Scoop and Mash
- Let the baked potatoes cool slightly, then cut off the tops and scoop out enough filling to create skull shapes.
- Transfer the scooped potato to a bowl.
Mix Ingredients
- Add cheese, butter, sour cream, salt, and pepper to the scooped potato and mash until creamy. Optionally mix in food coloring.
Mold Skull Shapes
- Fill each potato skin with the potato mixture and sculpt into skull shapes, making eye sockets for olives.
Final Bake
- Bake the filled skulls in the oven for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
Serve
- Add black olive slices to the eye sockets before serving your spooky creation!
Notes
For extra flavor, add spices like garlic powder or paprika. These potatoes can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for about 3 days.
