  • candy-coated chocolate pieces for the body—think M&M’s or something similar
  • licorice strings or thin black laces for legs

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, egg, baking soda, and vanilla extract.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Use a fork to gently press down on each ball, creating a crisscross pattern.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes before decorating.
Decorating
  1. Use chocolate chips for eyes, placing two on each cookie.
  2. Add a candy piece in the center for the body.
  3. Cut licorice strings into segments and stick them into the sides of the cookies as legs.

Notes

If the cookies spread too much, they will still taste great. For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Use crunchy peanut butter for extra texture, or stick to creamy for a smoother taste.
