Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs
  • 1 pound ground turkey or chicken, if preferred
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped or 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika add cayenne for extra spice if desired
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For the Lemony Yogurt Sauce
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 Zest of 1 lemon
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • a sprinkle fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Moisten your hands and roll the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cooking
  1. Bake the meatballs for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
  2. While they bake, stir together Greek yogurt, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper in a small bowl to prepare the sauce.
Serving
  1. Once the meatballs are ready, serve warm, drizzled with lemony yogurt sauce and garnished with parsley.

Notes

For variations, feel free to use ground chicken or even lean beef. You can prepare the meatballs in advance and store them in the fridge. The sauce may appear lumpy, but it's all part of its charm!
