  • 1 pound kielbasa, sliced into ½-inch pieces
  • 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
  • 4 medium potatoes (about 1.5 pounds), diced
  • 1 unit onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth (low-sodium, if possible)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoky or sweet)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Preparation
  1. Start by chopping the cabbage, potatoes, and onion.
Layering Ingredients
  1. In your slow cooker, layer the diced potatoes first.
  2. Add the sliced kielbasa next.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped cabbage and onion over the top, then add the minced garlic.
Seasoning and Cooking
  1. Pour in the chicken broth, then sprinkle the paprika, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients.
  3. Cover your slow cooker and set it on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Finishing Touch
  1. Once everything is cooked, give it a good stir and taste for seasoning.
  2. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Want it spicier? Add a pinch of red pepper flakes! You can swap potatoes for sweet potatoes or turnips. Leftovers taste even better the next day and can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
