Preparation
- Pat the scallops and shrimp dry with a paper towel and season with salt and pepper.
Cooking the Scallops
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Sear the scallops for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
Cooking the Shrimp
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and add the shrimp. Cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
Adding Garlic and Lemon
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Squeeze in lemon juice and add lemon zest.
Combining Ingredients
- Gently reintroduce the scallops and toss them with the shrimp and lemon garlic butter. Cook for an additional minute.
Serving
- Plate the scallops and shrimp, garnish with fresh parsley and serve with a lemon wedge.
Notes
Pair this dish with a light salad or over pasta or rice for a heartier meal. A chilled glass of white wine like Sauvignon Blanc pairs wonderfully.
