Ingredients

Pasta and Seafood
  • 8 ounces linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound scallops
  • 1 pound mussels, cleaned and debearded
Flavorings
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Garnish
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Cook your linguine according to the package directions until it’s al dente and reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
Sautéing the Seafood
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes for about a minute.
  2. Add scallops and sear for 2-3 minutes until golden on each side. Remove and set aside.
Cooking Shrimp and Mussels
  1. In the same skillet, add the shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add mussels and white wine (or chicken broth). Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mussels open.
  3. Discard any mussels that remain closed.
Combining Everything
  1. Return scallops to the skillet and toss in cooked pasta along with reserved pasta water. Season with salt and pepper.
Serving
  1. Plate the pasta, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Cook seafood in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan for better browning. You can substitute any seafood to your liking, and if the sauce appears lumpy, stir to smooth it out.
