Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Brussels Sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 slices bacon, chopped Can substitute with turkey bacon for a lighter option.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth Can substitute with vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, freshly grated For topping before serving.

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, toss in the chopped bacon and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the halved Brussels sprouts into the pan and stir to coat them in the bacon fat. Cook for about 5-8 minutes, turning occasionally until tender and slightly charred.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the pan and stir for another minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and cover the skillet. Let it simmer for 5 more minutes until everything melds together. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan on top just before serving.
  6. Serve the dish on plates, optionally adding extra bacon on top for bacon lovers.

Notes

For additional flavor, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic. You can also include nuts like almonds or walnuts for a delightful crunch.
