Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 slices crispy bacon, chopped The more, the merrier!
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced Button mushrooms work great.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice To brighten everything up.

Cooking
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped bacon until it's beautifully crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Remove the bacon from the skillet and drain it on a paper towel.
  3. In the same skillet, toss in the sliced mushrooms and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Add a little olive oil if needed.
  4. Toss in the green beans and minced garlic, cooking for another 5-7 minutes until the beans are tender and vibrant green.
  5. Add the crispy bacon back into the skillet along with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Stir and cook for an additional minute.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t skip the lemon juice! It's essential for brightness. You can add red pepper flakes for extra heat. If your green beans are thick, consider blanching them first.
