Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4-6 pieces sausages (pork, chicken, or turkey) Choose your favorite type.
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Or your choice of cooking oil.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth Vegetable broth can be used for a lighter option.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Adds a nice umami kick!
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Enhances flavor.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • for garnish Chopped fresh parsley Optional but adds color.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausages and cook them until they’re browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.
  2. Remove the sausages from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and mushrooms. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender and beginning to caramelize.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
Cooking
  1. Pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, scraping up any brown bits from the pan.
  2. Return the sausages to the skillet, cover, and let simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
  3. Serve with the onion-mushroom gravy spooned over the sausages and sprinkle with fresh parsley.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different types of sausages. For a lighter dish, use vegetable broth and omit Worcestershire sauce for vegetarian options. Don't worry about lumps in the gravy; they add character!
