Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can (15 oz) salmon, drained and flaked You can use fresh salmon too, if you’re feeling fancy!
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Or crushed crackers—no judgment here!
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise Because life’s too short to skimp on flavor!
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Bring on the tang!
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Or fresh minced garlic if you’re feeling adventurous.
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions Because we all need a bit of green in our lives.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Don't be shy with the seasoning.
  • Olive oil for frying

Method

Base Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and chopped green onions.
  2. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to your liking.
Form Patties
  1. Shape the mixture into small patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
  2. Place them on a plate while you prepare to fry.
Get Frying
  1. In a large skillet, heat about 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Once hot, carefully add your salmon patties to the pan.
  3. Allow them to cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they’re golden brown and crispy.
  4. Don't flip them too soon—a crispy crust needs time to develop.
Serve and Enjoy!
  1. Once cooked, transfer your patties onto a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any extra oil.
  2. Serve them warm with a side of lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or even a simple salad.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. They also freeze beautifully—just layer parchment paper between them. Feel free to mix in other herbs or spices to make this dish your own. A dash of hot sauce or fresh dill would add a nice touch.
