Preparation
- Remove the ribeye steaks from the fridge and let them sit out for about 30 minutes.
- Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then generously season them with salt and pepper.
Cooking
- Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Place the steak in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side until a crust forms.
- Turn the steak over, add the minced garlic to the pan, and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
- Spoon some of the flavorful oil and garlic over the steak as it cooks.
Resting and Serving
- Transfer the cooked steak to a plate, cover loosely with foil, and let it rest for 5 minutes.
- After resting, slice the steak against the grain and serve, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the pan when cooking multiple steaks, and consider using a meat thermometer to ensure the correct doneness.
