Ingredients

  • 2 pieces ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • optional Fresh rosemary or thyme (for garnish)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Remove the ribeye steaks from the fridge and let them sit out for about 30 minutes.
  2. Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then generously season them with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Place the steak in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side until a crust forms.
  3. Turn the steak over, add the minced garlic to the pan, and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
  4. Spoon some of the flavorful oil and garlic over the steak as it cooks.
Resting and Serving
  1. Transfer the cooked steak to a plate, cover loosely with foil, and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  2. After resting, slice the steak against the grain and serve, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan when cooking multiple steaks, and consider using a meat thermometer to ensure the correct doneness.
