Ingredients
  

Cupcake Ingredients
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix or your favorite homemade recipe
  • water, oil, and eggs as per your cake mix instructions
  • 1 container chocolate frosting store-bought or homemade
Decoration Ingredients
  • 12 mini pretzels for antlers
  • 24 candy eyes available at most craft and baking stores
  • 12 red candy like M&Ms or red gumdrops for the nose
  • sprinkles optional for extra holiday bling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (or follow the instructions on your cake mix box) and line a baking tray with cupcake liners.
  2. Mix the batter according to the package directions and fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let them cool completely on a wire rack.
Frosting and Decorating
  1. Once cooled, generously frost each cupcake with chocolate frosting.
  2. Decorate by inserting two mini pretzels for antlers, placing two candy eyes, and adding a red candy for the nose.

Notes

Feel free to use different types of candy for decoration. These cupcakes can be made a day or two ahead; just frost them the day of serving for freshness.
