Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt. Stir them together to mix.
- Pour in the warm water and olive oil. Start mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
Rolling Out the Dough
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Once the dough has risen, turn it onto a lightly floured surface. Divide it into 4 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a circle about 6 inches in diameter.
Filling
- Spoon pizza sauce on one half of each circle, leaving space around the edge.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, then add your favorite toppings.
- Fold the other half over and pinch the edges to seal.
Baking
- Place the calzones on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
For a crispy crust, brush calzones with olive oil before baking. Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
