Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix Yes, we will start with a mix for convenience.
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 packet strawberry jello mix For the lovely pink color.
  • 1 cup crushed Oreos The star ingredient!
For the Frosting
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk Adjust for desired consistency.
  • 1 cup finely crushed Oreos More Oreos = more happiness!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, oil, and strawberry jello mix. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until well blended.
  3. Gently fold in the crushed Oreos.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter evenly into two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Frosting
  1. In a bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix until you have a smooth consistency.
  2. Fold in the crushed Oreos to your frosting.
Assembly
  1. Once cooled, lay one cake layer on a plate and slather on some frosting.
  2. Top with the second layer and generously frost the top and sides.
  3. Garnish with additional Oreo crumbs on top.

Notes

Keep an eye on your cake as it bakes to avoid any mishaps. You can bake this cake a day in advance and store the layers tightly wrapped in plastic wrap. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
