Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

- Pour the buttery mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch round cake pan. Arrange the pineapple slices on top and tuck a cherry into the center of each slice.
Batter Preparation
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
Baking
- Pour the batter over the pineapple layer, ensuring it covers everything nicely.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serving
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before carefully flipping it onto a serving plate.
- Slice into wedges and serve warm.
