- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a little oil.
- Toss in the chopped onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms; sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Push the veggies to one side and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 7 minutes, mixing in the vegetables.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper; simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Lay provolone slices over the mixture and cover to cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Serve heaping spoonfuls onto the hamburger buns.
Notes
For an extra kick, consider adding jalapeños or hot sauce. Leftover filling works beautifully on baked potatoes or nachos!
