Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a large rectangle.
- Spread the marinara sauce evenly across the dough, leaving about an inch around the edges.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, and layer the pepperoni on top.
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder over the toppings.
- Carefully roll the dough starting from one of the longer sides, and pinch the edges to seal.
- Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on a greased baking sheet.
- Brush with olive oil and beat the egg in a small bowl for an egg wash.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until beautifully golden brown.
- Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing, and serve hot with marinara sauce on the side.
Notes
Leftover stromboli can be wrapped tightly and stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven to restore crispiness.
