Ingredients
  

For the Pie
  • 1 piece pie crust Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves Feel free to add more if desired

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using a store-bought crust, place it in a 9-inch pie plate and crimp the edges.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  4. Fold in the pecan halves.
  5. Pour the pecan mixture into your prepared pie crust.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 55-60 minutes. The pie is done when the filling is set but still has a slight jiggle.
  2. Let the pie cool for at least 2 hours.
Serving
  1. Slice and serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Check on the pie a few minutes early to prevent overbaking. Leftover pie can be stored covered in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.
