Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the phyllo dough into squares that fit into your muffin tin cups. You’ll want about 6 squares per cup.
Assembling the Cups
- Brush each layer of phyllo dough with melted butter before stacking them in the muffin tin.
- In a bowl, combine the chopped pecans, brown sugar, honey, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Spoon the pecan mixture into your prepared phyllo cups, filling them well.
Baking
- Pop your muffin tin in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the cups are golden brown and fragrant.
- Once out of the oven, allow your baklava cups to cool slightly.
- Drizzle with additional honey if desired.
Serving
- Carefully remove the baklava cups from the tin and serve.
Notes
Keep unused phyllo sheets covered with a damp towel to prevent drying out. You can also mix in walnuts or almonds for a variation. Prepare ahead of time and bake just before serving.
