Method
Cooking the Steak
- Heat a little olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season your thinly sliced ribeye with salt and pepper.
- Once the oil is hot, add in the steak and cook until browned, about a few minutes.
Adding Vegetables
- Push the steak to one side of the skillet and add sliced onions and green peppers to the other side.
- Sauté until soft and caramelized, about 5 minutes.
Combining Ingredients
- Combine the steak and veggies in the skillet and mix them together.
- Pile on the cheese of your choice and cover the pan for about a minute or until the cheese melts.
Assembling the Sandwich
- Split the hoagie rolls and lightly toast them.
- Load them with the meat and cheese mixture.
Serving
- Cut each sandwich in half and serve hot, optionally with sides like sweet potato fries or a salad.
Notes
For best results, slice steak thinly. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat gently.
