  • 2 sheets sheets of puff pastry Keep them the same size for even baking.
  • 1 cup Nutella Slather generously.
  • 1 large egg Beaten, for brushing.
  • optional powdered sugar For dusting before serving.
Optional Add-ins
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts For added texture.
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt For a sweet-salty contrast.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. First, let the puff pastry thaw according to package instructions.
  2. Roll out the two sheets of puff pastry to the same size.
  3. Spread Nutella thickly on one sheet of puff pastry.
  4. Place the second sheet on top and gently pat it down.
  5. Cut the combined pastry into a triangle shape for the tree, including the trunk.
  6. Cut slits along the edges to form branches, then twist each branch to shape.
  7. Brush the entire tree shape with the beaten egg.
Baking
  1. Transfer the tree onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Let cool slightly before serving to avoid burns from hot Nutella.

Notes

For easier cleanup, always use parchment paper. You can prepare this treat in advance and bake it just before serving. Store at room temperature for best flavor.
