Ingredients

For the Crust
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
For the Filling
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped cream Can be homemade or store-bought
  • 1/2 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed For best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • zest of one orange
  • Orange slices (for garnish)

Method

Preparation of Crust
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Mix until it resembles wet sand.
  2. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Refrigerate while preparing the filling.
Making the Filling
  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually add the orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
  3. Gently fold in the whipped cream until combined.
Assembling the Cheesecake
  1. Pour the creamy mixture onto the chilled crust and smooth the top with a spatula.
  2. Place the cheesecake in the fridge for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
Serving
  1. Once set, carefully remove the sides of the springform pan and garnish each piece with fresh orange slices.

Notes

Chill the cheesecake longer for better flavor. For a lighter option, consider using mascarpone or Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese. Leftovers can be stored covered in the fridge for up to five days.
