Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 8 pieces hot dogs or bratwurst if you’re feeling fancy!
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 piece egg for egg wash
  • to taste mustard or ketchup for eyes
Optional Ingredients
  • as needed slices cheese to make your mummies extra cheesy!

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it, separating it into perforated triangles.
  3. Cut each triangle into thin strips to create wraps.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Wrap the dough strips around each hot dog, leaving a small space at each end.
  2. Arrange wrapped hot dogs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the crescent dough.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and crispy.
  5. Allow to cool briefly, then use mustard or ketchup to draw eyes on the mummies.

Notes

Get creative with eyes using tiny bits of olives or mini chocolate chips. Make a larger batch for easy snacks throughout the week. Serve with spooky dips like ghostly ranch or blood-red ketchup.
