  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
Optional Topping
  • Powdered sugar for dusting optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and cocoa powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Blend until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 12-15 minutes. Check with a toothpick for doneness.
  2. Allow to cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.

Notes

These are puffy delights. A toothpick should come out clean; it’s okay if the puff looks a little soft. You can prepare the batter ahead of time and store it in the fridge for a couple of hours before baking. Experiment with flavors by adding peppermint extract or chocolate chips.
