Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and cocoa powder.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Blend until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Baking
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes. Check with a toothpick for doneness.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.
Notes
These are puffy delights. A toothpick should come out clean; it’s okay if the puff looks a little soft. You can prepare the batter ahead of time and store it in the fridge for a couple of hours before baking. Experiment with flavors by adding peppermint extract or chocolate chips.
