Ingredients
  

For the Tart Crust
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup finely chopped pecans
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
For the Filling
  • ½ cup maple syrup Use high quality maple syrup for best flavor.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup cooked bacon, chopped Chop bacon into bite-sized pieces.
  • ½ cup finely chopped pecans Extra for topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini muffin tin.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, chopped pecans, melted butter, sugar, and salt until you have a crumbly mix.
  3. Press a small amount of the mixture into each cup of the muffin tin to form your crusts, aiming for about ¼ inch thickness.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in the chopped bacon and pecans.
  5. Spoon the filling evenly into your crusts, being careful not to overfill.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the edges start to brown slightly and the filling sets.
  2. Allow the tarts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before removing them and placing them on a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra indulgence, drizzle more maple syrup on top before serving. Feel free to mix nuts based on your preference.
