  • 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 package (10 oz) marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter For melting
  • to taste Food coloring (red and/or pink) For a brain-like appearance
  • optional Decorative candy eyes For an extra spooky touch
  • as needed Wax paper For handling the mixture

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add in the marshmallows and stir continuously until melted and smooth.
Mixing
  1. Once the marshmallows are melted, add the Rice Krispies and stir until fully coated.
  2. Add a few drops of food coloring to give the mixture a slight pink hue.
Shaping
  1. Lightly butter your hands or use wax paper to grab handfuls of the mixture and mold them into brain-like shapes.
Cooling and Decorating
  1. Lay the shaped brains on a sheet of wax paper and let them cool completely.
  2. Decorate with additional food coloring accents and optional candy eyes if desired.

Notes

To save time, consider scooping the mixture into a greased pan, letting it set, and slicing it into squares. You can also use cookie cutters for different shapes!
