Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Should be at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed Use light or dark brown sugar based on preference.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup For best flavor, use pure maple syrup, not imitation.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Sift before measuring for best results.
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda Ensure it’s fresh for proper rising.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added sweetness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the maple syrup and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remember, they will continue to firm up while cooling.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.
  8. Enjoy your cookies warm or at room temperature!

Notes

To keep cookies soft and chewy, store them in an airtight container lined with a slice of bread. The bread will help maintain moisture but avoid eating it afterward as it will be too sweet.
