Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large bag Tortilla Chips The sturdier, the better!
  • 2 cups Cheese (shredded cheddar or a blend) The more, the merrier
  • 1 lb Ground Beef or Turkey Optional, but highly recommended for the meaty fans
  • 1 can Black Beans Drained and rinsed for added fiber
  • 1-2 Jalapeños (sliced) Optional, for a spicy kick
  • 1 cup Tomatoes (diced) For freshness
  • 1/2 cup Green Onions (chopped)
  • Sour Cream For drizzling or dolloping
  • Guacamole A must for nachos
  • Hot Sauce For those who like it spicy

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey. Season it with taco seasoning.
  3. Spread the tortilla chips on a large baking sheet in an even layer.
  4. Once the meat is cooked, layer it over the chips, followed by black beans, jalapeños, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheese.
Baking
  1. Place the nachos in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and drizzle with sour cream and guacamole. Add hot sauce according to taste.
  2. Serve immediately with a serving spoon.

Notes

Opt for thick tortilla chips; they’ll hold up better under the weight of all those toppings! Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for crispy goodness.
