  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the dough into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake for about 25–30 minutes, keeping an eye on it.
  3. Let them cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into square bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week. Bars freeze well. Add nuts or shredded coconut for texture, or incorporate mini marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs for a s'mores variation.
