Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Pour the dough into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for about 25–30 minutes, keeping an eye on it.
- Let them cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before cutting into square bars.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to a week. Bars freeze well. Add nuts or shredded coconut for texture, or incorporate mini marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs for a s'mores variation.
