Ingredients
  

Pasta and Protein
  • 12 oz cheese-filled tortellini fresh or frozen
  • 4 oz salami, diced for savory flavor
Cheese
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls, halved adds creaminess
Vegetables
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved for color and sweetness
  • 1/2 cup black olives, sliced optional
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped for zesty flavor
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped for aroma
Dressing
  • 1/3 cup Italian dressing store-bought or homemade
Seasoning

Method
 

Cooking the Tortellini
  1. In a large pot of boiling water, cook the tortellini according to package instructions until tender.
Draining and Cooling
  1. Once cooked, drain the tortellini and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
Mixing the Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooled tortellini, salami, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, olives, red onion, and basil.
Dressing and Serving
  1. Drizzle the Italian dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat the ingredients evenly.
  2. Serve it right away or chill it in the fridge for about 30 minutes to let the flavors meld.

Notes

Make the salad a day in advance for best flavor. Feel free to add more veggies like spinach or bell peppers.
