  • 1 pound Italian sausage You can choose mild or spicy.
  • 1 16 oz package gnocchi The star of the show!
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the sausage.
  • 1 small onion, diced Adds flavor and texture.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For aromatic flavor.
  • 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained Add to the sausage mixture.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a rich and creamy sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Brings out the flavors.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese To top the bake.
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese For added cheesiness.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
  • Fresh basil for garnish Optional but recommended!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat Your Oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Cook the Italian sausage until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Add diced onion and minced garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
  4. Pour in the diced tomatoes and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. Stir in the gnocchi and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until slightly puffed.
  7. Remove from heat, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese generously on top.
  8. Transfer to the oven or a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil, serve hot, and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to add spinach or bell peppers for extra veggies. Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave. Prepare in advance by assembling it a day before and refrigerating.
