Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with any light oil if needed.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, or until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Once it’s fluffy, punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide it into two equal parts if you plan to make two pizzas.
  6. Cover the dough balls with a cloth and let them rest for another 30 minutes.
  7. Roll out the dough into your desired thickness and add your favorite toppings.
  8. Preheat your oven to the highest setting (usually around 475°F). Bake until the crust is golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.

Notes

For a crispier crust, pre-bake your crust for about 5 minutes before adding toppings. Cooking together makes lots of beautiful memories.
