Preparation
- In a small bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, or until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
- Once it’s fluffy, punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide it into two equal parts if you plan to make two pizzas.
- Cover the dough balls with a cloth and let them rest for another 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into your desired thickness and add your favorite toppings.
- Preheat your oven to the highest setting (usually around 475°F). Bake until the crust is golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
Notes
For a crispier crust, pre-bake your crust for about 5 minutes before adding toppings. Cooking together makes lots of beautiful memories.
