  • 0.25 teaspoon salt

Fruits and Optional Ingredients
  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped Granny Smith for tartness
  • 0.5 cup raisins optional, but adds sweetness
  • Powdered sugar for dusting for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mixing Dry Ingredients
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Creaming Butter and Sugar

Incorporating Eggs and Vanilla

Cooling and Serving
  1. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar to serve.

Notes

Choose a mix of tart and sweet apples for the best flavor. The cake keeps beautifully in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
