Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 pounds Brussels sprouts, halved
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cup honey for that sweet kick
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes for a little heat
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: A sprinkle of pecans or crispy bacon for extra crunch

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Rinse and halve your Brussels sprouts, discarding any outer leaves that look sad.
Cooking
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, stirring occasionally until it turns a beautiful golden brown color.
  2. Remove from heat and whisk in the honey and red pepper flakes.
  3. Toss the halved Brussels sprouts in the mixture, coating them evenly.
  4. Season with salt and pepper before transferring the sprouts onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Roast in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  6. Optional: Sprinkle with chopped pecans or crispy bacon halfway through cooking for added flavor.

Notes

If your sauce looks lumpy, it's just the butter and honey combining, which is normal. For larger gatherings, consider making a double batch as these sprouts are very popular. Leftovers make excellent additions to salads or grain bowls.
