Ingredients

For the skewers
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pack wooden or metal skewers Soak wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes to prevent burning.
For the honey mustard marinade
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Divide the marinade into two bowls: one for the steak and one for the shrimp. Toss each protein in its respective bowl to ensure they are well-coated. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Grilling
  1. Thread the marinated steak and shrimp onto the skewers, alternating between them.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  3. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until the shrimp turns pink and the steak is cooked to your desired doneness.
  4. Remove from the grill and brush with remaining marinade if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Use leftover marinade as a dipping sauce, but ensure it hasn't touched raw meat. Substitutes for shrimp can include chicken, bell peppers, or zucchini.
